Aftercare Plans

Aftercare Plans are designed to offer convenience for clients seeking ongoing support and maintenance for their hearing aids. Upon purchasing hearing aids, we include this service for 3 months completely free of additional costs.

When using hearing aids, there are ongoing costs like appointments, consumable replacements and hearing monitoring. Rather than paying per appointment, we offer a one-time payment, covering all your needs for caring for your hearing aids throughout your plan. 

Aftercare Plans can be purchased as two options, providing a cheaper alternative for those who don't require home services.

  • Alpha Aftercare Plan - for unlimited clinic and home services

  • Indigo Aftercare Plan - for unlimited clinic services

Our Aftercare Plans are designed to cater for:

  • Older clients (70 years or older) who may have higher needs in counselling and support surrounding hearing aid use.

  • Clients who find it challenging to attend in-clinic appointments.

  • Clients who reside in aged-care facilities.

Aftercare Plans are not usually required for younger clients (those aged under 65 years).

Aftercare Plans are available for clients who have purchased hearing aids from our clinic.

  • Aftercare Plans provide "no cost appointments" for the duration of the plan purchased. "no cost" appointments include any appointment related to hearing monitoring or hearing aid aftercare and support, performed at your home or our clinics (Alpha Plan) or in our clinics only (Indigo).

  • There is no limit on the number of appointments that can be booked over a plan period. 

  • Wax removal (once per plan) is also included and can be performed at any time of your choosing over the plan period.  1 year plans include 1 x wax removal and 2 year plans include 2 x wax removal.

  • Appointments covered in the plan include:

  • Yearly review (full hearing test, device re-programming);

  • Drop off cleaning service (24 hour turn-around);

  • Wax removal (once per 1 year plan);

  • Hearing aid maintenance;

  • Hearing aid maintenance with programming;

  • Internal full hearing aid programming;

  • Tele-health (all types);

  • Ear impression appointments.

Parts/supplies included in the plan include:

  • Receivers/speaker replacements;

  • Hearing aid domes;

  • Hearing aid filters.

  • Services not included in the plan include all appointments unrelated to hearing aid aftercare and support or hearing monitoring. For example, a self-elected appointment for approval to get your driver's licence renewed, or a hearing assessment requested by your doctor or treating specialist due to previous unreported medical condition. 

  • Other items not included in the plan include:

  • Replacement of hearing aid ear moulds (unless due to manufacturer fault);

  • Hearing aid batteries;

  • Medical reports;

  • Ear wax removal (when more than once per 12 months).

  • Aftercare Plans are only available for Private clients who have purchased hearing aids from our clinicFor HSP/DVA clients, maintenance and appointment costs are covered under the services of the program, and therefore Aftercare Plans are not applicable for these clients.

  • There is no added hearing aid insurance coverages for hearing aids under an Aftercare Plan. All hearing aids sold by us include 3-year manufacturer warranty, however, this does not include coverage for hearing aids damaged by the user. In cases of this, our $750 replacement rebate applies.

  • $750 rebate means an $750 discount on replacement hearing aids that are sold by us. To be eligible for the rebate, the devices must be lost or damaged beyond repair. Damaged beyond repair is determined by us or the hearing aid manufacture. In the event that the specific hearing aid is not available from the manufacturer, we will still provide this discount amount on an alternative device of your choosing. 

  • Home visit appointments are exclusively available for homes and aged care facilities situated within the specified regions we cover. Unfortunately, we are unable to make any exceptions to this policy.

  • We reserve the right to determine the suitability of specific homes and aged care facilities for the delivery of services. Certain residences may not meet the necessary criteria for testing due to reasons related to hygiene, safety, or excessive noise floors. In such cases, we will always provide in-clinic appointments as an alternative option.  

  • Aftercare Plans are strictly non-refundable. However, in the unfortunate event of passing, we will always honor a refund for the remaining period on the plan.

Why do you charge for hearing aid on-going support and maintenance costs?

  • We do not charge for Aftercare support during the first 3 months after purchase, to ensure clients are completely happy with their hearing aid purchase and have no hidden fees.

  • After this period is over, we charge for Aftercare Plans because we do not build these costs into the prices of our hearing aids. We instead prefer to provide high-quality hearing aids at fair prices, with the option of paying for these extra services when clients require them.

  • Other providers build this into their hearing aid sale price, by either over-charge for hearing aids (think $9,000 hearing aids), or provide you with low-quality hearing aids and build the extra profit into the costs of your future appointments. Either way, there's always a catch when this is delivered at "no-cost" to clients. We just prefer to be upfront about it!

Do I really need to purchase an Aftercare Plan?  Who are they best for?

  • Not all clients are equal in their needs and ability to manage hearing aids - optional Aftercare Plans serves to cater for clients with higher needs.

  • To provide you with a rough guide on whether an Aftercare Plans is the best option for you, we can tell you that those aged over 75 will generally require 3-6 audiology appointments per year (on-going) while those aged under 70 will generally require around 1-3 appointments per year. Hearing aid users will also spend approximately $100 in parts and supplies per year in upkeep of hearing aids.

  • We do not recommend Aftercare Plans for people under the age of 65, unless transportation to and from appointments is difficult or not preferred.

Can I take out an Aftercare Plan if I relocate to your clinic with exsisting hearing aids?

  • Aftercare Plans are only available for hearing aids purchased from our clinic.
